Veeam Managed Services Engineer

Job purpose

The primary duty of the Veeam Managed Services engineer is to build and maintain the SevenC Veeam backups infrastructure and services deployed to customers. Additionally they will also be assisting with day to day managed services at SevenC customers as reasonably possible

Duties and responsibilities

  • Management of the storage infrastructure for Veeam backups
  • Attend to the daily backup administrative duties including maintenance of backup schedules, server/desktop troubleshooting, and upgrades monitor and performance.
  • Provide hands-on support of Microsoft Windows Operating systems and Linux where necessary
  • Configure replication to DR sites as required
  • Managing the Configuration backup and recovery in Veeam Backup and Replication, Cloud connect and Office 365 backups
  • Managing the Veeam Database and Configuration from SQL Studio
  • Assist implementations with deployment of new backup services as required
  • Act as an escalation point in the business
  • Act as SME for Veeam products in the business
  • Provide reporting to management and customers as required
  • Suggest infrastructure improvements / find efficiencies and implement with approval
  • Represent Veeam backups and the business in meetings
  • Create and maintain company documentation and SOP’s for Veeam services
  • Report licensing usage to vendors on a monthly basis
  • Assist with management and support of Windows servers and networking as and when required
  • Possibly work after hours to provide support to other engineers
  • Assist with project work as and when required
  • Action any additional reasonable requests


  • CompTIA A+ – or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • CompTIA N+ – or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Veeam Certified Engineer qualification
  • MCSA – Office 365
  • 3 years backup and restore experience

  • Experienced in high pressure environments
  • Understanding of ITIL

Working conditions

  • Overtime will be required when requested by clients or senior staff or when daily duties have not been completed
  • Travel will be required to client’s sites/suppliers

Physical requirements

  • Dependable and well-maintained motor vehicle
  • Valid driver’s license
