Columba Leadership
NPO – Youth Skills development
Who are they?
The Columba Leadership initiative, founded in 2009, have the goal of transforming the culture of schools to change the trajectory of youth. They work in close association with the Department of Education, building the capacity of high schools, serving economically disadvantaged communities to embed our values-based leadership model.
What did they need?
Columba required a flexible arrangement where their IT contact, who was only on-site two a week, could be supported both technically and logistically from a remote service desk, providing Columba branches nationwide the flexibility to ensure users IT issues were tracked and dealt with effectively 7 days a week.
Additionally, from the results of an IT survey sent to all staff, the primary concern was the quality and speed of the internet connections at the offices.
How did we do it?
Implemented a customised user and admin support portal for the logging and triaging of service requests being logged by the end users.
Provided telephonic and email access to the SevenC service desk and remote management tools allowing our staff to resolve most issues remotely.
Deployed our Sophos UTM firewall devices across all branches with unified management to proactively manage and report on link utilisation, to make the most efficient use of the ADSL lines in place at the branches. Where possible, SevenC facilitated the replacing of ADSL lines replaced with newer connectivity solutions such as Fibre.
